Show Your Beautiful Spring Skin With These Varicose Vein Treatments

Despite the cold winter weather we’ve been having, spring and summer are right around the corner. That means more sunlight and more opportunities for you to show off your gorgeous skin. Unfortunately, if you’re one of the 40 million people in the United States suffering from varicose veins you may want to cover up and stay inside. But luckily, with all the available treatment options for the condition, you won’t have to miss out on any fun in the sun! Check out these common procedures for getting rid of varicose veins and then visit Vein and Skin Laser Center to find out what’s best for you.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy uses an injected solution to get rid of varicose veins. After being directly injected into the affected vein, the interior of the blood vessels becomes agitated, which results in the vein engorging and blood clotting. After a while the blood vessels begin to scar and fade from view.

Ambulatory Phlebectomy

Ambulatory phlebectomy works by actually removing the affected veins from the leg. During the treatment, small, millimeter-length incisions are made above of the veins. Tiny hooks are then placed underneath the vessels to remove the vein in sections. After the procedure, patients recover fairly quickly and notice dramatic cosmetic improvement.

VNUS Closure/VeneFit

This type of procedure uses radio waves to close varicose veins. First small cuts are made in the skin. A special catheter with a radio frequency emitting device outfitted at the tip is then inserted into the saphenous vein. When the device at the tip activates, it is slowly pulled out of the vein, which results in the vein closing and losing its bulging appearance.

Venacure EVLT

Endovenous Laser Treatment or EVLT uses light in the form of laser energy to get rid of varicose veins. In this procedure, a thin fiber optic instrument is placed into the vein. Laser light is then emitted through the instrument which, when pulled out of the vein, seals the affected vessel. After the vein is closed, blood resumes moving normally throughout the remainder of the body’s healthy veins.

Cutera Skin Laser Treatments

This treatment adds the finishing touch for tiny spider veins that are still noticeable after sclerotherapy and tiny veins that are unable to be treated with sclerotherapy. It is also the most effective treatment for facial veins.

While all of the treatments above are effective at reducing the appearance of varicose veins, it’s best to speak with one of the experts at Vein and Skin Laser Center first to see what’s best for you. Schedule an appointment by calling 404-508-4320!
