Dr. David Richard Fern Earns Certification by the American Board of Phlebology

Atlanta, Georgia August 5, 2008 – The American Board of Phlebology has announced that David R. Fern has earned board certification in the specialty of phlebology by the American Board of Phlebology. Dr. David R. Fern was board certified by the ABPh in July 2008. This is the charter class for ABPh, which includes 248 diplomates nationwide.

We are very pleased to announce this important accomplishment by Dr. Fern. His certification with the American Board of Phlebology reflects his knowledge and experience in providing patient care.

To become an ABPh diplomate, an applicant must complete the requisite training or experience qualifications, meet the continuing medical education requisites, and pass a stringent certification examination. Certification periods are ten years and maintenance will be dependent on the ability of the diplomate to display competency in four areas of assessment: evidence of professional standing, evidence of commitment to lifelong-learning and periodic self-assessment, evidence of cognitive expertise, evaluation of performance in practice.

Dr. David R. Fern is the founder and director of Vein and Skin Laser Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Fern is associated with Dekalb Surgical Associates.
