Sclerotherapy is an injection based procedure that can be easily performed during an office visit.    Sclerotherapy not only offers good cosmetic results but is reported to relieve pain symptoms in 85% of the cases.  

Sclerotherpy is the injection of chemicals into diseased veins to effectively glue the vein shut. It can be performed safely with little discomfort.  Depending on the patient’s condition and desired results, between two and six sclerotherapy sessions (each typically less than 30 minutes) are needed to achieve optimum results. 

There is virtually no down time.  Sclerotherapy patients are encouraged to continue their normal activities, particularly exercise, since circulation helps promote recovery.  Patients have reported playing tennis, walking several miles or returning to work immediately after treatment.
