Phlebectomy
Phlebectomy is an outpatient procedure that is effective and safe with good cosmetic results. Many patients prefer this to schlerotherapy because the vein disappears immediately, with the one procedure. It can be used to treat small and large varicose veins.
The procedure only requires a local anesthetic and is done by making tiny punctures or incisions through which the varicose veins are removed. The incisions are so small that no stitches are required and there are no scars. The patient can walk immediately and can return to light work and other activities the following day.
